Articles: The Six-Day War: Israel's Miraculous Victory

Greetings:
I grew up in the Bronx of the '50s and '60s. In our rather small by New York standards neighborhood, the two largest demographics were those of Jewish heritage and those of Irish heritage. At the close of the '67 War, I talked to my father, a World War II graduate and of the latter heritage, about what the Israelis should do. His response, referring to the Arabs, was, "Take them down to the river [Jordan], point them East, and give 'em a decent headstart."
All these years later, it still sounds like good advice to me.

Everyone, with the possible exception of the U.S. Congress, has become aware that there is something terribly wrong with Israel. In Israel itself, where there is often ferocious debate over the country's policies, it is time for a reckoning.
